BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: DO YOUR KIDS LOVE SPACE? If you have a student fascinated by space exploration? This 10-day program is for G/T students entering grades 6–8 in fall 2022, and is open to public and private school students from Maryland and other states who meet the criteria.

CAMP LOCATION: APL is located on Johns Hopkins Road, approximately 1/2 mile west of U.S. Route 29 in Laurel, Maryland.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: During this two-week experience at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), students will interact with scientists and engineers, examine real space hardware, and tour facilities where APL builds, tests, and operates spacecraft for NASA that have been sent across the solar system. They will be part of a student team that designs and builds a scale model of a spacecraft, complete with instrumentation, and they will also launch their own water-bottle rocket! Come have them join other students who share their interest in exploring new worlds.

Our scientists, engineers, and analysts serve as trusted advisors and technical experts to the government, ensuring the reliability of complex technologies that safeguard our nation’s security and advance the frontiers of space. We also maintain independent research and development programs that pioneer and explore emerging technologies and concepts to address future national priorities.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We are unable to provide transportation or offer scholarships/financial assistance to students for this program.
